Thomas is a
central in the San Francisco trance scene and is one of the biggest
crowd pulling trance DJs on the west coast. He is currently signed
to the respected German label"Blutonium Records" He plays
100-150 events a year. When asked which city he prefers most he
replies "San Francisco of course." Thomas has been turning
down
numerous out of town gigs lately as he loves the San Francisco vibe
and is massively appreciative of the big following he has in the
city he likes to call "home."
Born and raised
in Ireland, Thomas first got involved in the scene while studying
psychology at the University of London around 1990. Shortly after
graduating (around 1991??)he moved to California (San Diego) just
when the scene was really starting to flourish (Narnia, Paw Paw
etc) and "break-in" parties were the order of the day.
However, Thomas didn't really fall into the 'southern Cal' vibe
and decided
to give San Francisco a shot around 1993.
At this time
the house scene was really getting underway in San Fran due largely
to outfits such as
the Wicked crew. Trance started to surface to a greater extent perhaps
around 95 or 96.
It was around
this time that Thomas started doing his
own trance events booking DJs such as DRC, Dutch, Mars, Mystere,
Vertigo along with himself. Thomas says "I guess you could
say the six of us have good trance "breeding" having been
behind it before it had become popular - "the original SF transters!"
and it's great to see that we are still out there pushing it.
