DAVID GARCIA

As a DJ, Producer, and Billboard Reporter, David Garcia has not only been
able to captivate the attention of the masses but has been able to keep them
anticipating his every move. With over eight years of experience in the
Dance Music Scene, David has brought Dance Music to another level with a
recognizably unique style. In an interview, David was asked to describe his
style and its origins; "I grew up in LA with Hard House and Techno, then
moved up here to the Bay Area and it was Jeno, Garth, and Pete Avila. I had
to adjust, and fine-tuned the two." His self-prescribed name for the unique
mix of funky-Disco hits and crowd bangers is simply: "Funky House music with
an tougher edge."

David originally established himself as a premiere DJ in the Los Angeles
area in 1994 as a finalist on the POWERTOOLS DJ contest on POWER 106 FM. As
a result of this exposure, David landed his first major performances at "The
Dome" (LA's then, number one hot spot) and Funky Tekno Tribe's first ever
"Future" party. Cognizant of his professional goals, David kept busy
working internships at KMEL FM in San Francisco, and joined Richard Humpty
Vision and Tony B! as a co-producer on the mix show that gave him that first
big break, POWERTOOLS, in Los Angeles.

Within a short time, David's following grew tremendously and in 1996, he
accepted the opportunity to become a full-time resident DJ at CLUB X and The
Sound Factory in San Francisco. With both residencies in full swing,
David's career advanced rapidly, as he accepted the opportunity to help
conceptualize an underground music radio show. In the winter of 1997
"House Nation" aired on WILD 94.9 FM in San Francisco, and became the #1
rated show in less than 6 months. After a 3-year residency with "House
Nation," David chose to expand the underground radio movement by building
another show, known to audiences as "RADIOACTIVE" on Z 95.7 FM in San
Francisco. David surrounded the show with local DJs who heavily influenced
the Bay Area underground scene, as well as hosting and interviewing the
likes of Pete Tong, The Basement Jaxx, Dj Sneak, Bad Boy Bill, and Richard
Humpty Vission.

With the "RADIOACTIVE" show attracting the masses on a weekly basis, David
began to transform his dreams into reality. The dawn of the new millennium
marked the release of David's first nationwide mix compilation. "@ The
Club.2000" sold over 15,000 CD's within the first two months, shooting the
CD to #1 in the Electronica Section at The Virgin Mega Store for 12 straight
weeks while simultaneously taking the CD to #3 at Rasputin's Record Stores.
Supporting his first official release, David has been performing remarkable
sets at clubs like Spundae, Space 550, and Club Release while connecting
with his younger audiences at larger music festivals like: "The Ultra Beach
Festival" in Miami, Florida, "Moonshine Over America Tour 2000" in Oakland,
"Together As One" in Los Angeles and "Metropolis" in San Francisco.

Continuing the pursuit of his dreams has lead David to start his own label
imprint aptly named Solmatic Records. His latest track: "ROBOFUNK" on Soul
Phusion Records, has been licensed for Donald Glaude's "MIXED LIVE AT BUZZ"
compilation on Moonshine, and Bad Boy Bill's "BANGIN' THE BOX #5." This
has taken David to the next level of electronic music, with more enthusiasm
than he has ever had before, knowing this is only the beginning.
