ETHAN KLEIN
(City Boy Records, SDC, www.enjoymusic.com)

As one of the most symbiotic DJs in the Space City, Ethan Klein touches the
gamut of techno, tech-house, tribal house, deep house, and atmospheric,
funky, jazzy drum & bass when he spins. As many talented DJs do, 27
year-old Ethan has evolved into a choice producer and has been added to
Eddie "Flashin'" Fowlkes' Detroit label, City Boy Records.

Ethan is backed by 13 years of DJing, with residencies at Kamelyon Club in
Houston (1992) and Chupa in Phoenix, Arizona (1995-96) alongside Eddie
Amador and Bomb Shelter DJ Emile (Swell Records). He has spun with the
likes of Richie Hawtin, Juan Atkins, Stacy Pullen, Frankie Bones, Freddy
Fresh, D-Wynn, Spun, and DJ Dan, Claude Young, Julias Papp, Joey Beltram to
just name a few. In 1996, Ethan moved back to Houston and became a resident
DJ for Scooby Doo Crew, a collective of DJs, producers, promoters, and
visionaries that erected a legacy with a weekly club night at Orbit Room.

Among his other accolades, Ethan has performed at the Houston Music Poll
Showcase (1996 &2001), Annual Texas Electronica Festival (1997, 1998), has
been nominated for the Houston Scene Awards (1997 & 2001) and was runner-up
for best DJ (1998) at the local alternative newsweekly, Public News.
Outside of Houston,

Ethan has traveled the States from San Diego, San Francisco (including
Spundae and Nakita) to Ohio and co-headlined with some of the best
DJ/producers in the world like Claude Young, Jim Hopkins, Barry Weaver,
Donald Glaude, Nigel Richards, Slip, Kevin Saunderson .

Ethan has a unique and versatile style at the helm - a guaranteed crowd
pleaser when he DJs. With Ethan's dexterity, he can discern an appropriate
style of music according to his time slot and the dance-floor ambience.
And, by no means is he "burned-out" Djing because he is now producing. He
still gets "butterflies" before he plays. "Without the crowd, there's no
DJ, no excitement. It's very reciprocal. That's how I feel the connection."
Can you feel it? I thought you would. --Gracie Chavez, 6/99
